While the City of Adelaide had a significant Jewish population, mainly in the merchant class and including names that are still known today such as Nathan and Solomon, the majority of the communioty migrated from England, The list below includes both those with Germanic family names, indicating that the family had spent some time in a German speaking land, at least during the time when European surnames were forced upon Jewish people, and those who were born in the lands that became the German Empire in 1871.
